The sea at Rhodes: what to know
The forecast on this page is for a sea point off Rhodes (36.46° N, 28.25° E), in the Dodecanese. Values come from the Open-Meteo forecast and marine models (MET Norway as backup) and are updated several times a day.
More about the sea at Rhodes: wind, traffic, how to read the numbers
Rhodes is in the south-east corner of the Aegean. In summer the prevailing wind is north-west to west; the west coast (Ialysos, Prasonisi) is windy and wavy, the east coast (Lindos, Faliraki) usually calmer.
The port of Rhodes town handles ferries, cruise ships and boats to Turkey and the other Dodecanese islands; Mandraki harbour is full of excursion boats and yachts.
How to read the numbers: wind up to about 10 knots and waves under 0.5 m are usually comfortable for a small boat or SUP near the coast. Waves from 1 m and gusts above 22 knots are already serious for boats under 6 m. The rating follows the boat profile you choose.
Questions and answers
